Addie and Spunky

Caden and Addie had a great time playng together at Aunt Jenny's last week! They are way more interested in each other now than a few months ago and it's so much fun to watch them together!

Caden has been having a great time visiting Spunky while the Buchners are in Florida! Spunky seems to love all the attention he gets from Caden...Ryann and Brody have broken him in well! Caden is good at petting the kitty and although he does get a little grabby at times, Spunkydoesn't seem to mind.

Caden likes to get up on his knees and play with his toys...it's really fun to watch!

Boys Weekend!

Last weekend the head coach and I took 7 of our runners up to rural NY for a short training camp. We were away for 2 nights so Daddy and Caden got to spend some alone time together. The weekend went really well on both ends! I had a great time running and swimming with the kids, and Caden and Daddy enjoyed their boy time! All those two need is milk in the freezer and they are set! (That's my way of making myself feel like they need me in some capacity......even if it is just milk making!)

Fun Summer!

Caden has been thoroughly enjoying his summer with Mommy and Daddy! We have been keeping him busy visiting with friends and family, swimming in the baby pool, taking walks around campus and playing with the pups. His six teeth are growing fast and they are now visable when he smiles :) Our friends Amy and Jason had their baby, Chad, on July 8th which means Caden has a new friend on campus! Caden has gotten really good at pulling himself up on things, but he still isn't crawling.....he gets into position and then flops onto his belly. He'll figure it out sooner or later :)

Tia Sarah's Farm for the 4th!

The three of us went to visit Tia Sarah and Tio Matt at the alpaca farm in Maryland for the 4th of July. It was so much fun to see them even though it was a short visit! Caden had a blast checking out all of the animals and I'm sure he would have been happy to spend a few more days there! Sarah got to spend some quality time with Caden and he misses her already!

Gettysburg

Spencer and I arrived in Gettysburg around 6:00 on Sunday, went out to dinner, then gave Caden a bath and put him in his pajamas. We then went on a Ghost Tour of Gettysburg which was almost 2 hours of ghost stories and historical facts about the Battle of Gettysburg. It was really interesting!

Caden was asleep in his stroller for a while and when he woke up took turns carrying him while he slept :)
In the morning we got some breakfast and then went to the visitors center where we watched a movie about the Battle of Gettysburg and saw the cyclorama. Then we did a self guided audio tour of the park in our car which was 20 miles long...we bought the CD if anyone visits Gettysburg and would like to borrow it!

There are thousands of canons on the battlefields, many of them still functional. Caden thought they were pretty cool!

Daddy and Caden looking out over Devil's Den from Little Round Top.

Later in the afternoon we took a ranger led tour of the National Cemetary and we got to hear some really fascinating stories about different soldiers. Perhaps the most moving part was seeing all of the tombstones of the unknown soldiers, identified by only a number.

Caden rode in the backpack for part of the tour but then got a little fussy so we carried him and put him on the ground to play when the ranger was talking...he was happily amusing himself with a stick!

Spencer and I were talking to the ranger after the tour of the National Cemetary and he really liked Caden...he gave him his hat to wear for a picture :)

Tooth #6!

Jasper and Caden at the Memorial Day parade in Hightstown...this was back in May but it was on the other camera so it just made it to my computer this week...

These are some old pictures Amanda had sent me this spring that I just came across. This one is of Kamryn and Caden in the pack and play together...she is totally checking him out and thinking, "what's not to like!"

Jasper and Caden bumping fists. Just a couple of little dudes...

Kam and Caden are both holding onto their right foot in this picture...too funny! And Noemi is busy checking out her toy...

This was Caden's attire when the Phils played the Red Sox last week (he was bummed that the Sox only went 1-3).

Caden in his Princeton stroller...he was checking out the animals at the farm. Tooth number 6 broke through today so now he has 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. That happened fast...6 teeth in a month and he's starting to learn how to use them. His little love bites hurt!

3 More Teeth and Lots of Family Fun!

Uncle Taylor was around a lot the past two weeks which was really fun! He was coaching at a couple camps and then he raced today and his boat won the national championship...way to go Uncle Taylor! Caden got to wear his gold medal before he did :) It was a huge help having Taylor around, especially last week when Spencer and I were at a rehearsal dinner Friday and a wedding on Saturday. Taylor and Walker babysat on Friday night so they were in charge of the little man for 6 hours....what a treat for Caden!

Caden loves his ducky tub! He lays his head back in the corner and hangs out.....what a life!

Aunt Rissi has so much fun with Caden now that he can sit up and respond to her when she does something silly. Too bad the bink was in his mouth for this picture...he had a big smile on his face!

Aunt Jenny, Addie, Caden and I went to a farm in Lawrenceville last week and we got to see lots of farm animals. It looks like the goat is talking to them in this picture!

We've gotten to see Cousin Addie a lot this summer and it's so cute to see them together. Today they came up with Gram and we hung out all afternoon and then walked down to the Hightstown farmer's market. They were both really good in their strollers the whole time!

Gram came to babysit Caden on Saturday night while we were at Alexis and Rich's wedding and the two of them had a blast together! I came home to nurse between the ceremony and the reception so I go to join in on some of the fun. He was a good boy for Grandmom!

Caden got 3 more teeth in the past couple weeks so we are now up to 5.....2 on the bottom and 3 on the top! He has 2 more on the top that look like they will come in really soon. He's been a bit fussier than usual but no screaming so he's been a trooper thus far!

Caden has been especially interested in his toys lately and he really likes the ones where he can stand and play. We have to get him on his feet but then he does a good job standing and playing on his own!
It's not every day we get to see Spence in a tux, so I had to put this up! He cleans up well if I must say so myself :)
