Caden's Christmas Vacation

Caden had a great time visiting with his Great Grandma, cousin, aunts, and uncles over Christmas! It was not surprising that all of the Washburns were naturals when it came to baby holding...they have clearly had some practice in the past!

Great Grandma Ellie-Caden was obviously very content in Grandma's arms!

Uncle Kiefer-he was great with Caden and was constantly checking in on him throughout the trip!
Looks like a team for Nerf wars in a few years!

Uncle Taylor-happy to be holding his little nephew! Hopefully he'll come visit and read Caden his new tiger book when he is old enough to understand!

Aunt Summer-hopefully she will teach Caden how to play sports that require coordination when he's older...because as we all know, Mom and Dad will not be very helpful in this area ;)

Caden's Christmas Vacation

Uncle Chandler-very excited for Caden to be old enough to participate in Nerf wars...

Uncle Parker-notice the color of his shirt-we had to sneak this picture while Spencer was not looking.

Brothers and cousins! By this time next year, they will be able to play together! Ellie was very interested in Caden and knew who we were referring to when we asked her where they baby was.
Aunt Skylar-she loved holding Caden and was a huge help when Mom or Dad needed a break. (She also made a killer pecan pie!)

Uncle Walker (aka, The Baby Whisperer)-I believe Caden was in that position on Uncle Walker's chest for hours one night. Caden can't wait to see him again next week!

Caden's First Christmas

Holding up the family tradition of feeding the reindeer!

Caden's first reading of The Night Before Christmas...

Caden got lots of great stuff in his stocking from Santa!

Looking cute in his new knit hat!

The little man made it through stockings and then slept for most of the morning, waking up to eat occasionally!

Cousin Ellie

Caden finally got to meet his cousin, Ellie, for the first time! She came to his house on her way from Boston to Baltimore.

Ellie was so cute...she kept looking Caden and then reaching out to touch him. Adorable!!!

Caden took a quick nap in Mom and Dad's bed after his cousin left.

Smiles on Dad's lap! He's excited to go to Andover to spend Christmas with his cousin and the rest of the Washburns!

First Bottle......Down!!

We had to try a couple times before Caden would take his bottle, even though it's contents were nothing different than what he is use to! But Dad worked his magic and got Caden to drink all 1.5 ounces for the first time earlier this week. Way to go boys!

Success!!!

Who wouldn't need a nap after that? Bottle feeding is hard work!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Coco!

Uncle Coco turned 20 yesterday, so we went to Grandma and Popop's house for a birthday celebration. Caden was awake for most of the party!

The little man was looking stylish in his Baby Gap sweatpants and Patagonia vest!

Grandma cooked up a delicious feast, as usual!

Aunt Rissi loves holding Caden...as long as he is not crying...

Happy Birthday, Uncle Coco!!

Just Caden!

Caden is getting much better at holding his head up...Aunt Rissi will be so proud of him next time she sees him!

Caden has already outgrown 2 of his winter snowsuits. And as you can see from this picture, his arms are almost too long for this one as well! Soon he will fit into the white one from his Great Grandma...

We have Caden sleeping next to our bed in a bouncy seat because he doesn't really like being flat on his back, but we decided to let him try out his crib for a few minutes after changing time and he loved it!

This is as close as we are going to get to a smile for now...he was obviously in a great mood!

Family portrait...sorry Rig and Grace...

Countdown to Christmas!

We've had several visitors from the boathouse come to meet Caden already...Kristen just adores Caden, and he is very fond of her!

Caden FINALLY got to meet the one and only Beck Dorey-Stein this week. Unfortunately he didn't get enough of her because she was in high demand Wednesday night, but he liked what he saw!

Aunt Anna and Uncle Nick made the trip out to Hightstown to meet Caden earlier this week. It wasn't the best hour of the day for him, as he was a bit fussy, but it was great to visit with everyone.

Mark and Amy (our matchmakers!) came by last night to see the little guy and he put on his holiday outfit just for them. We had a great time catching up with them, although we're a little jealous of their Christmas trip to Hawaii...

First Real Bath!!

Spence went to get Caden ready for his first bath while I filled up the tub. Spence was walking down the hall to the bathroom with naked baby, and Caden just couldn't hold it...there was poop everywhere! Spence dodged most of it, and managed to only get a little on his shirt.

Caden did an awesome job in the tub...no tears!! It seemed like he really enjoyed being in the water...he didn't even fuss when Mom got water in his eyes.

Caden making a funny face...too cute!

All done...time to get changed...

Tuckered out after bath night!

Weekend Visitors

Caden finally got to meet his Uncle Walker this weekend and he LOVED him! We started calling Walker 'The Baby Whisperer' because he knew exactly what to do, even when Caden got fussy. Very impressive!

Walker spent the night because he was going to the Army Navy game on Saturday. Grumpy was also here visiting because he and Spencer went to the game to watch. Walker looked very handsome in his uniform!

This is Caden checking him out...he agrees...very impressive, Walker.

Mom and Caden went to Grandma Ferrari's house to hang out for the day. We got to see Aunt Rissi between East swim practice and her CBAC swim meet, and Aunt Beanie stopped by to say hi as well!
Caden loves his turtle play mat from Jolly. He is so cute when he watches the turtles swing back and forth...

Monday Night Football and Sponge Baths

Caden had a blast hanging out with Dad and Matt, watching the Patriots play on Monday night. Mom was able to go get some sleep while the little man enjoyed the game with the guys.....so it begins.....

Caden was all bundled up, ready to go to his doctor's appointment today, and he looked so cute I had to take a picture. As soon as I got the camera out, he let loose a big smile in his sleep...perfect timing!!! He must have been dreaming about that Patriots game on Monday :)

Caden was such a good baby tonight during his sponge bath tonight...no tears! Sunday is the first day we can give him a real bath...we'll see how he likes that...

His fuzzy, little bear towel from Grandma kept him nice and warm!
