More Maine Pictures

We had a nice lunch with Aunt Lita and Uncle Fred and they sent us on a great hike!

It was great timing because we got to see all of the Washburns and help Grandmom move.....we loved her new apartment and can't wait to go back for another visit!

Aunt Janet playing with Caden...

Aunt Cathy loves babies!

One of our favorites....it looks like they are having a conversation!

Grandmom and Caden...they had a good time playing with Bailey!

Catching up...

This is our first attempt at posting from our iPad. We'll see if it works...

It's been a while since we've updated the blog. Sorry! Life has been very busy for all of us down here in NJ, but hopefully things are slowing down a bit. Below are some pictures from the trip we took to Maine back in July. Meg, Caden and I had a blast and loved having Kiefer with us. We hung out a lot and did some great day trips to do some exploring.

Caden and his first lobster...he wasn't sure what to think, but he'll learn soon enough!

We spent one day exploring Fort Knox...Caden had a blast checking out the cannons and Kiefer was an awesome tour guide.

We had a beautiful day for our hike up Blue Hill. Kiefer did a great job navigating us throughout the expedition.

Caden loves the water...even the frigid Maine water! Both he and Kiefer braved the cold and did some good swimming. Meg and I were a little less willing to take the plunge.

After a good day of hiking in Acadia, we had an awesome dinner in Bar Harbor and watched the sunset over the harbor. We love it up there.

Chincoteague Beach Pictures

Aunt Bee and Aunt Re reminding us what vacation was like without babies....boring!

Uncle Russel and Uncle Coco telling secrets. In a few years Uncle Colson can teach Caden how to skimboard!

The water was nice and warm so Caden couldn't get enough! He loved digging in the sand and playing in the waves.

Addie also loved the beach and had a great time playing in the sand and the water!

Caden kept crawling towards the water when we put him down in the sand...he obviously had no idea how big the waves were!

We were practicing our walking on the sand...

Caden was very proud of himself for finding a shell in the sand! He didn't eat any until the 3rd day we went to the beach...then Aunt Beanie and I found one in his mouth...he was just tasting it ;)

Caden liked crawling around under the tent and pulling himself up on the pole.

It's hard to feed a 9 month old lunch on the beach without getting it on their forehead! But Aunt Rissi did a good job and got most of the carrots in Caden's mouth.

Nana and Caden waving to the seagulls...Caden was waving at all the birds and the kites while we were at the beach!

Digging holes in the sand....

Camping in Chincoteague

Caden and Mommy just returned from the annual Ferrari trip to Chincoteague, Virginia, so we have lots of photos from Caden's first camping trip! Daddy is in Australia working so he couldn't join us this year but we hope he'll be able to make it next year. It sounds like his trip is going well and he is talking to lots of coaches and rowers and exploring Sydney and Melbourne as well. Between being away and taking my computer to the tech center this month we are really behind in our blog entries so stay tuned for more Chinco pictures as well as pictures from our trip to New England at the end of July!

Pop set up a huge netted tent this year to keep the bugs away which worked out great, especially for meal time. Although.......Caden didn't REALLY experience Chincoteage because he didn't get eaten alive by mosquitoes......it's only a matter of time :)

Story time! There's so much to do in Chincoteague that by the time Caden was ready for bed the big girls were still in their bathing suits!

Perhaps Caden's favorite part of the trip was feeding the ducks. A whole flock decided to make themselves home at our site on the water and they enjoyed being fed bread and fresh water. The two white ones really close to us in the picture were so friendly that Caden and I decided they needed names and we settled on Dorey and Dinghy. They would eat bread right out of Caden's hand, then he would smile and turn to me for more bread. It was so cute!

Caden loved being able to spend some quality time with Axel! Poor Axel was so confused...he couldn't figure out why everyone was holding the babies and not him...

This is the view from our campsite at night. The lighthouse is on the left and the moon is rising behind the clouds.

Pop is looking at Addie and calculating in his head how much longer it will be before he can take her out on his boat......

Caden had fun swimming in the pool but he would have had more fun if they had a baby pool....he wanted to get down and play but he obviously couldn't understand that we couldn't let go of him!

Both babies definitely needed bath time every night after a long day of camping. Nana and all his aunts helped out and he loved having all those hands all over him :)

Pop was making sure everything was set for fishing early the next morning....I like this picture because you can see them light of the moon, the light of the lighthouse and the light of the boat :)

Aunt Bee and Aunt Rissi had so much fun with the babies and they were both super helpful the whole week! Caden misses them already!

They boys did a great job catching flounder and Nana did a great job cooking it up! Nothing beats the seafood in Chincoteague!

A Ferrari camping trip wouldn't be complete without at least one debacle. Dad lost his cell phone off the back of the boat but luckily the boat was tied up at the campsite and Colson dove down and found it. It only took him 2 dives!

Addison and Caden had so much fun together...stay tuned for another entry with pictures of the two of them together!

Caden was distracted during meal times which made it hard to get him to sit still long enough to eat off his spoon, so Nana let him drink his meal out of the pouch....he was pretty happy about that!

Caden loves Uncle Coco! We think Caden thought he was Spencer at the beginning of the week because Caden would look at him and give him a huge smile right away :)

Addie loved Caden's banana mango baby food! Aunt Bee was feeding her and we've never seen her mouth open so wide......except for when we went to The Creamery :)

I'm not sure who's driving the boat in this picture.....I'm not sure that they know either ;)

I was able to complete our Chincoteague trip by going water skiing which was really fun...especially since I had to skip it last year when I was pregnant :) It was a successful year for skiing....Rissi, Chrissy, Lindsay, and Jen all got up thanks to Pop and Uncle Dean. They were warming up their teaching skills so they can teach Caden and Addie in a few years!
