Play Time

Caden has been really interested in Gracie and Rigger lately. He loves to watch them when they run around and he thinks it's funny when they lick his toes, or his head, or his face...............
We've been going for walks with Caden in the Baby Bjorn and he watches the dogs as they run around campus...Caden loves being outside!!


Caden is still slobbering all over the place! I don't mind because it means I get to change his outfit several times a day...they are all so cute! And everything he gets his hands on goes right in his mouth...yummy :)


We went to Aunt Jenny's house on Wednesday to see Aunt Jackie, Leslie, Will, Grandma, and Beanie. Caden was in a great mood early in the day but got fussier as the day went on. He did take a nice nap in Addie's swing! Grandma stayed with him at Jenny's house while I went to visit Grandma Thorpe. It was great to see Grandmom, but it was a short visit because I got a text from Jen saying Caden was really fussy. It was about 5:30 so I wasn't too surprised. Every day at about that time Caden is ready to go down for a nap. He sleeps anywhere from 30 min to an hour and then he gets up and we do bath time and hang out with Daddy before going to bed at 8:30 or 9:00. Unfortunately he has not had any really long stretches the past couple nights...he is back to waking up every couple hours. Boo!

Cookies and Exersaucer

Caden and I had an exciting day today. We made cookie dough this morning for cookie dough ice cream and Caden found the process very interesting! The whisk was just the right size for him to hold in his tiny hand. It's only a matter of time before he gets to lick the bowl!


After we made cookie dough Caden spent some time in his exersaucer. We started putting him in there last week and he really likes it! He usually lasts about 10 minutes before he is ready to get out. The pandas on the seesaw is his favorite toy. I'm not sure if he has made the connection yet, but he likes to watch it go back and forth when he hits it with his hand. He is really starting to take interest in his toys!

After our exciting morning, we went to Princeton to have lunch with Amy. It was great to see her and Caden was very cooperative. He hung out in his seat for a while, then we held him for a bit until he got hungry, then he nursed and fell asleep and then it was time to go! After lunch we went to the House of Cupcakes and picked up an Oreo cupcake for Daddy :)

Caden had another good night last night. The Keefers came over for dinner and Caden hung out with the grown ups for a while and then went down at 9:00. He slept for 6 and half hours before waking up! We put him to bed earlier tonight (8:00) so we'll see how he does........

Happy 16th Birthday, Aunt Rissi!!!

Caden had tummy time on Daddy today and they both enjoyed themselves :) I think this is my favorite picture of the two of them!

Caden had an awesome night last night...he slept from 9:00 to 4:30!!! Spencer and I were shocked because the longest stretch he had slept before last night was only 4 hours. He must have been tired from Aunt Rissi's birthday party!

Aunt Rissi turns 16 today so we had a family birthday dinner last night. I can't believe she is 16...I remember when she was Caden's size!!


The babies got rather fussy by the end of the night. Judging by how much Caden slept last night, I'd say they were just tired!

Aunt Rissi is having more fun with Caden now that he can hold his head up and is more expressive. She looks beautiful in her new diamond necklace!!

Baby Bobcat!

This picture was taken yesterday of Caden and Gram playing at Aunt Jenny's house. Gram got Caden to laugh which was so cute :)
Spencer surprised me by having a couple Bates onesies delivered this week! Caden makes a very cute Baby Bobcat!!!

Trip to Aunt Jenny's

Caden and Addie now have matching outfits that say, "I love hanging with my Aunt." As you can see, they look pretty cute :) It's amazing how fast she is growing...she is quickly catching up to Cousin Caden!! Both babies were a little fussy today and we decided it's always nice to have company when you have a fussy baby. Especially when it is someone else who is also dealing with a fussy baby!
This one is for Tia Sarah!! The bib was one of the many things she brought for Caden when she came to visit in January...it looks adorable!


Caden was a good boy in the car today. I was worried after our ride to LaSalle when he screamed the whole time we were on Rt. 1, but he was happy today because the ride to Jen's doesn't have many stoplights.

Sleeping better...

We've been putting Caden in bibs lately because he slobbers so much! We think he might have a hole in his bottom lip.....
We have bath time every night before bed and the little man still loves his baths although he's getting a bit big for his tub.



Caden has been has been sleeping much better this past week in comparison to his first three and a half months! Last night we got a 4 hour stretch, followed by 2 hours and then 3 hours....Mommy and Daddy were thrilled :) He has been going to bed between 8:00-9:00 and waking up around 6:30 pretty consistently. He is definitely a morning baby as he is always in a great mood and full of smiles for us. We can't think of a better way to wake up!

Rowing and Birthday Parties!

Caden got to go to CRASH Ps on Saturday to watch Daddy's team compete. We dressed him up in his little tiger costume and he looked so cute! He was a trooper all morning long...he seemed to like all the action but then he crashed and fell asleep when Marty started giving out the awards...
Caden got to go to his first birthday part on Sunday morning. Spencer and I were laughing because we couldn't remember the last time we were invited to a party that started at 10am on a Sunday ;) It was Tessa's 3rd birthday and all the kids had a great time playing pin the tail on the donkey and swatting at the pinata. Caden finally got to meet Paul and Meridith's baby, Landon, who was also born on November 21st!

Caden has started laughing a lot which just makes your heart melt!!! It is the sweetest sound I've ever heard :) He has started to sleep longer stretches at nighttime which Mommy and Daddy are hoping he will keep up! Every night is different, but he slept for two 4 hour stretches on Friday night, then last night he slept for 5 hours and then 2 hours. Not bad!!! (I probably just jinxed ourselves...he will probably be up every 2 hours tonight!)
We went down to LaSalle to visit Uncle Colson last week because we hadn't seen him since Addie was born! We had a great time visiting with him but Caden did not like the drive on Route 1...there were too many stoplights for the little man!
